Scope
This notice explains how Saku handles information when you use the public website, create a Saku account, use Saku-operated services, start a trial or subscription, or contact support.
Information handled
- Account data: account identifiers, sign-in identity, profile details, roles and account status.
- Subscription data: Polar customer, product, subscription, order, refund and entitlement identifiers and status. Saku does not receive your full payment-card number.
- Device and security data: device identifiers, active-session leases, app version, timestamps, IP-derived security or locale signals, and audit events.
- App data: settings, library state, progress, social or shared-session state, and other data you ask Saku to sync.
- Messages and files: direct-message text, reactions, read status and files you choose to share. Files are checked for common safety risks before delivery, but no automated check can guarantee that a file is safe.
- Calls: the people in a call, its state and technical connection details. Saku does not record or store the audio from voice calls.
- Support data: messages, safe diagnostic details and any files you choose to send.
Why it is used
Data is used to provide and secure accounts, sync requested app state, verify paid or Founder access, enforce active-session limits, prevent trial abuse, provide support, maintain audit records, meet legal obligations, and improve reliability. Saku does not sell personal information or use the public site for behavioural advertising.

Each provider may process technical data under its own terms and privacy notice. Saku sends only the data needed for the relevant function.
Website cookies
The static Saku site does not add analytics, advertising pixels or Saku-set cookies. Polar, GitHub or linked services may use their own necessary technologies when you visit them.
Retention and deletion
Profile and synced app data is normally kept while your account is active. Direct messages remain available to the people in the conversation unless the sender deletes them or an account is deleted. Deleting a message removes its text and makes its files unavailable; deleted files and abandoned uploads are then cleared from active storage. Short-lived edit history is kept for safety and abuse handling, and technical backups may retain deleted data for a limited recovery period. You may request account deletion, but some transaction, fraud-prevention or audit records may need to be retained. Deleting a Saku account does not itself cancel an active Polar subscription; cancel it in the customer portal first.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete personal data, or object to some processing. Email support@sakustreams.com. Identity verification may be required before fulfilling a request.
Third-party services and media
Saku does not provide media or third-party subscriptions. When you connect an independent service or addon, that provider's privacy practices apply. Do not submit provider secrets, addon configuration URLs or resolved media links to Saku support.

Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Where required, users will receive additional notice.
